In Room Lounge, staff can switch a child between rooms they are already assigned to in their booking. This is useful when children move between scheduled sessions, attend another assigned room, or are being moved temporarily during the day.
This guide is for recording the room move in Room Lounge. It does not explain how to assign secondary rooms or how to permanently move a child to a new room from the main dashboard.
Find the ChildFrom your room’s All tab, scroll down.
Children scheduled to attend another session in a different room will appear at the bottom of the list.
Other children with secondary rooms assigned won’t appear here unless they’re due in another session, but you’ll still see the Switch Rooms button when you select them.
Switch RoomsTap the child’s portrait to select them.
Tap Switch Rooms at the bottom of the screen.
If you don’t see the Switch Rooms button, the child might not have a secondary room set up — ask a manager to add one.
Update the Time and RoomUpdate the time the child is leaving your room and entering the next.
Tap the room name you’re moving them to.
The child will now appear as checked out of your current room and checked in to the new room.
Best Practice TipsAlways confirm the time before switching — it affects attendance and ratio reports.
If you can’t switch a child, check that their secondary room has been assigned by a manager.
Children only show at the bottom of the All screen if they have a scheduled session in another room.
Once moved, you can review their attendance under Attendance → Room Logs.
Please note you can only move children between rooms assigned to them in their booking - to be able to move children between rooms they would need to have secondary rooms assigned to their booking.
